Lions Reporter Apologizes for Question at Dan Campbell Press Conference About Jack Campbell
Longtime beat reporter Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network apologized after asking football question during emotional Dan Campbell press conference about Jack Campbell.
Campbell remains hospitalized with neck injury suffered first play of 4th quarter vs Vikings Nov 1, preliminary indications positive per Lions. During subsequent media availability, Rogers wanted to ask football/tactical questions, which rubbed people wrong way given gravity of situation.
Taking to X after press conference, Rogers wrote: “Immediately regret working a football/game question into that press conference. Wasn’t the right time and it could have easily waited until Wednesday. Apologies.”
Rogers now operates Detroit Football Network Substack, previously longtime beat reporter. He noted should have waited until Wednesday availability. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell also opened his postgame presser praying for Campbell — “I asked Dan after the game if he had any update… definitely something you hate seeing.”
