Maxx Crosby to Lions Suddenly Looks More Possible After Latest Development

It just got real again in Detroit.

Per Heavy.com (Oct 30, 10:50pm), Lions are among handful of clubs that have reached out to Raiders about Maxx Crosby — along with Cowboys, Bills, 49ers. Lions listed as team that checked in as Bears just traded for Jeffery Simmons, turning NFC North into arms race and putting pressure on Brad Holmes.

Latest development: Crosby told Raiders minority owner Tom Brady he will never play for organization again, per Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom.com — “He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again.” Lions Wire notes frustration since Raiders shut him down last two games last season, then knee surgery. Fox’s Jay Glazer said Crosby didn’t want another rebuild.

Former Lion Lomas Brown is pushing: “Man, come home, Maxx! I’ve been talking to your mom, friend of the program, come on home! She says you want to come home… You and Aidan! Come on man, who’s stopping that?” Crosby is from metro Detroit, Eastern Michigan alum.

On field: 7 tackles, 2 sacks, forced fumble this year. Under contract through 2029 after 3-year $106.5M extension. ESPN linked Lions as natural would-be contender. Price? Glazer thinks more than Micah Parsons deal — Cowboys got two 1sts + Kenny Clark for Parsons to Packers. Lions would carry $30M+ cap hit in 2026, $29M base fully guaranteed March 13 2027 — tricky with Gibbs, LaPorta, Jack Campbell extensions due and Detroit currently over cap.

Long shot but urgency is rising.
