Lions vs. Panthers: Live Score Updates, Highlights and Analysis From Sunday Night Football
The Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers are set to close out Sunday’s NFL action with a highly anticipated Sunday Night Football matchup.
Detroit enters Week 4 at 2-1 and knows a victory is important to keep pace in a competitive NFC North. The Bears, Packers and Vikings have already picked up wins this week, putting additional pressure on the Lions to deliver.
Carolina enters the game at 1-2 but should not be overlooked. The Panthers have one of the NFL’s better scoring offenses and have shown they can create problems when their offense gets rolling.
The Panthers are also dealing with several important injuries. Both starting cornerbacks have been placed on injured reserve, their top offensive lineman is unavailable, and wide receiver Jalen Coker is expected to miss the game.
That could give Detroit opportunities on both sides of the ball.
The Lions will look to Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown to lead an offense that has already produced at least 30 points in each of its first three games.
Meanwhile, Detroit’s defense will have the difficult task of containing Bryce Young and a Panthers offense capable of putting points on the board.
With both teams having plenty at stake, this could become a closely contested game from the opening kickoff.
