Panthers vs. Lions Today: Everything Fans Need to Know Before Kickoff

The Detroit Lions are heading into another primetime matchup with their offense showing plenty of firepower despite injuries along the offensive line.
Detroit has scored 31 points in each of its first three games, with Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown both getting off to strong starts.
The Lions will now take that offense into a Sunday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
Carolina enters the game looking to bounce back after a Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Panthers’ offense struggled to find its rhythm in that game, while injuries have also affected their secondary.
Starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson are both dealing with injuries that are expected to keep them out for an extended period.
That could create another challenge for a Panthers defense preparing to deal with Detroit’s explosive playmakers.
Lions Looking to Keep the Momentum
Detroit’s offense has been one of the team’s biggest strengths through the opening three games.
Gibbs has been making an impact out of the backfield, while St. Brown continues to provide Jared Goff with one of his most reliable targets.
Despite the team’s offensive-line absences, Detroit has continued putting points on the board.
Now the challenge is to maintain that production against Carolina under the bright lights.
Primetime Opportunity
The Lions and Panthers are scheduled to meet Sunday, October 4, at 8:20 p.m. ET in Charlotte.
For Detroit, it’s another opportunity to show that its offense can remain productive even when the team isn’t at full strength.
And with Gibbs and St. Brown already off to strong starts, Lions fans will be watching closely to see if the offense can deliver another big performance when the lights come on.
