The Detroit Lions are continuing to explore options to strengthen their defensive backfield, with the team reportedly working out a group of defensive backs today.
Among the veterans in the workout group are Jordan Fuller and Jalen Mills, two experienced defensive backs with significant NFL experience.
The workouts come as Detroit evaluates additional depth for its secondary amid a challenging stretch of injuries. The Lions are looking for experienced options who could potentially provide immediate depth if needed.
Fuller has experience playing safety at the NFL level, while Mills has versatility from spending time at both safety and cornerback throughout his career.
For Mills, the workout is particularly notable because he is already familiar with the Lions organization after appearing in three games for Detroit last season.
A workout does not necessarily mean a player will be signed. Detroit could ultimately decide to sign one or more of the defensive backs following their evaluations.
The Lions’ decision to bring in multiple veterans shows the organization is actively exploring ways to reinforce the secondary as the season continues.
