Jahmyr Gibbs Closing in on 6,000 Scrimmage Yards and 60 Touchdowns in First Four Seasons

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is on the verge of NFL history.

Heading into Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, Gibbs has totaled 5,919 scrimmage yards and 58 scrimmage touchdowns since Detroit drafted him 12th overall in 2023.

With just 81 yards and 2 touchdowns, he will reach 6,000 yards and 60 touchdowns in his first four NFL seasons — a club that only two players have ever joined.

According to Pro Football Talk, the only others to do it are Broncos Hall of Famer Terrell Davis, who had 7,594 yards and 61 TDs in his first four seasons, and Chargers Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson with 7,921 yards and 60 TDs.

Gibbs is also on a historic pace this season. He currently has 890 yards from scrimmage in 2026, which puts him on pace for 2,522 yards over 17 games. That would break Chris Johnson’s single-season record of 2,509 scrimmage yards set in 2009.

A former Pro Bowler in each of his first three seasons, Gibbs entered 2026 with 5,029 yards and 49 TDs (3,580 rushing, 1,449 receiving) and already ranks top 13 in Lions history in scrimmage yards.
