SHOCKING: RIQ WOOLEN TURNS THE TABLES ON A.J. BROWN WITH PHENOMENAL DAY…

Riq Woolen delivered a stunning bounce-back performance Thursday during the Eagles’ second joint practice with the New England Patriots, putting his name all over one of the day’s biggest defensive storylines.

After A.J. Brown got the better of Woolen several times during Wednesday’s session, the Eagles cornerback responded emphatically. Woolen was involved in two major turnovers on passes intended for Brown, showcasing elite awareness, coverage ability and ball skills.

The first came near the goal line, when Drake Maye targeted Brown on a quick out. Woolen stayed tight to Brown, read Maye’s eyes and jumped the route, taking the interception the other way for what would have been a 100-yard pick-six in a real game.

Woolen struck again later in a red-zone situation. Maye once again looked toward Brown, but Woolen was in tight coverage and ripped the football loose. The ball popped into the air before Eagles edge rusher Jalyx Hunt made an incredible diving grab for the interception.

The performance was even more impressive considering the context. Brown had dominated portions of the previous practice, while Woolen endured a difficult opening day against New England’s receivers. Instead of allowing that performance to linger, Woolen came back the following day and made some of the biggest defensive plays on the field.

Woolen still allowed a few completions during the session, including a touchdown to Romeo Doubs, but his response was undeniable. Eagles observers named him among the standout performers of the day, with his two plays against Brown becoming the defining moments of his afternoon.

Riq Woolen just sent a MESSAGE. 👀🔥 After getting tested by A.J. Brown on Day 1, he came back and made sure everyone remembered his name on Day 2.
