Trivella confirmed his decision to Knox News on July 9 after an impressive junior campaign at FIU, where he started all 49 games at shortstop. The Venezuelan infielder batted .287 while launching 15 home runs—ranking fifth in Conference USA—and finished the season with a team-high 50 RBIs. Defensively, he posted a .948 fielding percentage despite committing 11 errors.
Before transferring to FIU, Trivella spent two seasons at the State College of Florida, where he hit .315 with nine home runs and 54 RBIs across 72 appearances. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, he later attended high school in Sarasota, Florida, before beginning his collegiate career.
Trivella becomes Tennessee’s 11th transfer addition of the offseason and the fourth infielder to commit to the program. He joins a transfer class that already includes infielders Chris Ramirez (Cal Baptist), Wyatt Hanoian (Air Force), and Travis Sanders (Baylor).
The Volunteers have also bolstered their pitching staff with the additions of Hayden Simmerson (Clemson), Parker Detmers (Louisville), Jake McCoy (South Carolina), Ricky Ojeda (UC Irvine), and Brody Trosclair (Northwestern State). Tennessee’s transfer haul is rounded out by Wright State outfielder Andrew Duncan and Mercer two-way standout Braydon Kersey as the program continues to reshape its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
