Lions Coach Dan Campbell Gives Positive Update on Amon-Ra St. Brown Ankle Injury Ahead of Vikings Game

Detroit Lions fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Head coach Dan Campbell provided an encouraging update on star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown on Monday, following the team’s hard-fought 20-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

St. Brown, who was dealing with a swollen ankle after Sunday’s game, is not expected to miss time. Campbell said the injury is minor and that the team is managing his workload early in the week.

According to Campbell, St. Brown and cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., who also picked up an ankle injury against Green Bay, will likely sit out Wednesday’s practice as a precaution. The plan is to have both players back on the practice field Thursday.

“I think they should be fine, they should be good,” Campbell told reporters.

The update is especially positive considering St. Brown’s performance on Sunday. Despite the injury, he caught 9 passes for a season-high 153 yards, though he played only seven snaps in the fourth quarter as the team managed his ankle.

The timing is crucial. The Lions (4-2) host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings (6-0) in Week 8 in a massive NFC North showdown. Losing St. Brown would have been a major blow to Detroit’s offense.

For now, all signs point to the Sun God being ready to go.
