The Washington Commanders have placed kicker Austin Seibert on injured reserve, two days after his missed extra point attempt in the
team’s 34-26 loss to the Dallas Cowboys effectively ended their chances of overtime. Seibert, who had already missed the previous
two games due to a hip injury, has now been sidelined indefinitely. It is unclear whether the move to injured reserve is related to his ongoing
hip issue or a new leg injury. In the loss to Dallas, Seibert missed two extra points and a 51-yard field goal, including a critical extra point with 21
seconds remaining. The miss came shortly after wide receiver Terry McLaurin’s 86-yard touchdown reception, which had brought Washington within one point of the Cowboys.
