In a move that has left students, alumni, and fans reeling, the University of South Dakota has announced that its athletic teams, the Coyotes, will be relinquishing their Division I status to join the ranks of Division III.
But that’s not all – in a shocking twist, the university has also revealed that it will be discontinuing its beloved football program, effective immediately.

As part of this new initiative, the university will be investing heavily in state-of-the-art esports facilities and recruiting top gaming talent from around the country.
