A disturbing case of professional misconduct has come to light at Southend Hospital, specifically within the Gynaecology Department. Dr. Ali Shinook, a former gynaecologist at the hospital, has been found guilty of breaching his professional conduct by sexually abusing female patients.
Despite being proven guilty, Dr. Shokouh-Amiri was deemed “fit to practice” by the medical board, sparking widespread concern and outrage. One of the most egregious cases involved a 17-year-old girl who had her ovaries removed without her consent. This blatant disregard for patient autonomy and informed consent is a clear violation of the General Medical Council’s (GMC) guidelines.
The GMC mandates that healthcare professionals obtain informed consent from patients before undergoing treatment or physical investigation. Dr. Shokouh-Amiri’s actions not only caused physical harm but also emotional trauma to his victims. Furthermore, the GMC requires doctors to protect patients from harm and abuse, a regulation that Dr. Shokouh-Amiri has grossly disregarded.
This case highlights a shocking abuse of power and a systemic failure to protect vulnerable patients. It is imperative that we demand justice for the victims and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. Dr. Shokouh-Amiri’s medical license must be revoked, and he must face the consequences of his actions.
The community is urged to take a stand against this egregious abuse of power and demand immediate action from local and national health officials. A petition has been launched to revoke Dr. Shokouh-Amiri’s medical license and ensure that he is brought to justice
