Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal, are filing for divorce after four years of marriage, a decision they announced on Instagram Friday night.
Their joint statement explained that their demanding personal schedules have made it challenging to spend time together, and the separation will allow them to focus on their careers while continuing to support each other personally.
“We have decided to part ways amicably and file for divorce,” the statement said. “We are grateful for the love and support we’ve shared and hope to remain friends. This step will give us the space to advance professionally while supporting each other.”
The couple married in 2020 when Steve was the offensive coordinator at Alabama before becoming head coach at Texas the following year. Loreal, who works as a wardrobe stylist, was a standout track athlete at North Carolina A&T and previously worked as an assistant coach at USC.
As Steve prepares for the football team’s fourth training camp before their SEC debut, the Longhorns are under pressure to perform well, with recent polls predicting they will finish second in the league behind Georgia.
The Sarkisians are aiming for a smooth transition, especially with the football season approaching. They have asked for privacy during this time as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
