Sunderland appoints a 48-year-old as manager, sacks former…

If Regis Le Bris were chosen to succeed Michael Beale, it would be risky choice for Sunderland.
The manager of Lorient, Regis Le Bris, may be the most recent candidate in Sunderland’s ongoing hunt. The Black Cats’ most recent campaign was incredibly disappointing, as they were unable to maintain a drive for the play-offs and ended up finishing 16th in the standings.

Michael Beale was appointed as Tony Mowbray’s replacement after the latter was savagely fired by the Sunderland board in December, however Beale was only in post for two months. After the former Rangers manager left in February, Mike Dodds filled in as interim manager for the duration of the previous campaign. Consequently, the team has been searching for his replacement.

One possibility for Sunderland is Regis Le Bris. Sunderland has been linked to a number of managers in recent months, but they still don’t have a head coach, even though owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus stated on June 7th that an appointment will be “imminent.” Many supporters are looking for a speedy resolution, and others may have noted that Regis Le Bris, the manager of Lorient, is now widely favored to win.
It’s important to exercise caution when interpreting bookies’ odds, but there has been discussion regarding whether he would be a wise option. The 48-year-old has only held a senior position with the French team, where he had a great debut season as they placed 10th in the premier league. However, this season was challenging because Lorient was dropped to Ligue 2.
