Moore was on Sunderland’s radar in January but instead signed with Ipswich on loan from Bournemouth. Middlesbrough and Cardiff also showed interest in the 31-year-old, who netted seven goals in 18 Championship appearances.
After his loan, Moore returned to Bournemouth, where he has one year remaining on his contract but is still behind Dominic Solanke in the pecking order. Earlier this week, Hull City reportedly “struck a deal” to sign Moore.
Reports indicated that Moore was set to sign a three-year contract with Hull City under new head coach Tim Walter. Sheffield United, relegated from the Premier League last season, were also said to be interested in him.
Now, it appears Sheffield United has won the race to sign Moore, with reports suggesting the club is close to finalizing a £2 million deal to bring the striker to Bramall Lane, outmaneuvering their Championship rivals Hull City. TalkSPORT reported that Hull City was initially set to secure Moore before Sheffield United swooped in to finalize the deal for the 2024-25 Championship season. The Blades will be managed by Chris Wilder this season.
