Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has revealed that the band is currently in the process of working on a new album, with his involvement in the
project. In a recent interview with Daily Star (via NME), Slash explained that the band’s efforts are focused on creating their own new record,
distinct from his recent solo work.”They’re trying to make their own record,” Slash said when asked why he didn’t involve bandmates like Axl
Rose or his Conspiratorscollaborator Myles Kennedy in his solo album, Orgy of the Damned, released in May. “And I’m working with them in
that capacity, but this [solo album] didn’t involve anyone else. It was my own side project, so I wasn’t dragging my guys into it.”
Despite the absence of Guns N’ Roses members, Orgy of the Damned featured a star-studded lineup of guest artists, including Iggy Pop, Chris
Stapleton, Demi Lovato, Paul Rodgers, and Steven Tyler, among others. Guns N’ Roses has not released a full studio album since Chinese
Democracy in 2008, an album on which Slash did not contribute. The guitarist’s last involvement in a full album with the band was
The Spaghetti Incident? in 1993. Since rejoining the band in 2016, he has contributed to several singles, including “Shadow of Your Love,” “
Absurd,” “Hard Skool,” and others. In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, Slash reflected on the reunion with his bandmates, noting the
transformative experience of playing together again after years of tension. “It was like, ‘Whoa, that’s what that is,'” he recalled. “Then just to go
out and play together, it’s like, I wonder how the hell we got into that mess in the ’90s.”
