Shed Seven has been Awarded Best Rock Band in the UK with ‘Liquid Gold

Shed Seven have achieved their second Number One album with Liquid Gold, a special release celebrating their 30th anniversary. The album,

which revisits iconic tracks from their extensive catalog, marks a significant milestone for the band, following their first chart-topping success

earlier this year with A Matter Of Time. That album made history by setting the record for the longest gap between a band’s debut LP and its

first Number One album, with a span of 26 years and three months. This latest achievement comes just 10 months later, placing Shed Seven

alongside music legends such as The Beatles, Elton John, Diana Ross, Queen, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and ABBA, all of whom have also

scored two or more Number One albums in a single year. In a statement to Official Charts, the band expressed their gratitude: “We can’t quite

believe we’re standing here again this year. This is our second Number One of 2024, which is absolutely mind-blowing. We’d like to thank our

incredible label, Cooking Vinyl, our dedicated crew, and most of all, our amazing fans who’ve supported us throughout this week. We’re

immensely proud and can’t wait to hit the road to celebrate such an extraordinary year. This is dedicated to our departed loved ones—our four Dads and Max’s Mum. Thank you.”

Released on September 27, Liquid Gold is a tribute to the band’s three decades in music, featuring reimagined versions of fan favorites as

well as a new track, “All Roads Lead To You.” Reflecting on the band’s evolution, frontman Rick Witter told NME that they’ve shed the “nostalgia

tag” often associated with 90s bands. “We’ve moved beyond just playing our old hits,” he explained. “We’re releasing new music that feels

fresh and current, and that’s a great thing. But I’ve never gotten bored of performing our classic tracks. Seeing fans enjoying themselves live

makes it all worthwhile.” Shed Seven’s continued success and commitment to evolving both musically and live, along with the support of

their loyal fan base, have solidified their place as a key figure in the British rock scene.
