Snoop Dogg made waves during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves due to what seemed like an exchange with Luka Doncic. In the third quarter, Doncic seemingly said to Snoop, “Who’s crying mother******?” However, Snoop clarified on the WHOO’S House Podcast that the comment wasn’t aimed at him.
Even as Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks face a 1-3 deficit in the NBA Finals, their performance in the previous series was noteworthy. Going up against the top-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves, the Mavericks were considered the underdogs in the Western Conference.
Doncic and the Mavericks dominated the series, winning four out of five games, including the decisive match held at Target Center in Minneapolis. In that final game, Luka demolished the Timberwolves defense with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. However, he also engaged in some spirited trash talk with the crowd, showcasing his competitive edge. This caught the eye of hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, among others in attendance.

“Luka wasn’t talking to me, it was somebody that was talking s**t… When Luka took the lead, he was like ‘Who’s crying now m**********r?’ I was like this n***a a dog. He gets down, I like his get down ‘cause he meets the press,” Mr. Dogg continued. That person probably learned the hard way that provoking Doncic never ends well, and the Slovenian likely did leave some Timberwolves fans in tears that night. Doncic and the Mavericks eviscerated the home team, surging to a lead of up to 36 points at one point. Ultimately winning, 124-103, securing their spot in the NBA Finals.
