During his fourth major league start on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, rookie right-hander River Ryan of the Los Angeles Dodgers suffered an elbow injury that will keep him out of the game for the rest of the season.
The details of Ryan’s injury were unknown to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts until the 25-year-old had an MRI on Sunday morning. Roberts did mention that the former two-way player, who was acquired in a deal with the San Diego Padres in March 2022, is considering Tommy John surgery.
“To ascertain the precise course of action, additional scans are being awaited,” Roberts stated.
