Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman was absent from Friday’s practice following a knee injury, raising doubts about his availability for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Although Bateman appeared on the field at the start of practice, he did not participate. Speculation suggests the injury may have occurred during warmups, but the team has yet to provide an official update.
Center Tyler Linderbaum, another late addition to the injury report, was also absent from practice on Friday.
Bateman, the Ravens’ 2021 first-round pick, is having a breakout season after three underwhelming years in the NFL. With 531 receiving yards and four touchdowns, he has already set career highs. His 16.1 yards per reception rank second on the team, behind only Tylan Wallace’s 25.7 (on six catches). Bateman has solidified his role as a reliable No. 2 receiver behind rookie standout Zay Flowers, flashing the talent that made him a dominant force at the University of Minnesota.
If Bateman is unavailable, the Ravens have other options. Wallace and Nelson Agholor, who returned to practice Friday after an illness, could see increased playing time. Newly acquired veteran Diontae Johnson, who has played sparingly since being traded from the Panthers, may also have an opportunity to contribute.
The Ravens will face the Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Monday night at 8:15 p.m. ET. The team’s final injury report on Saturday will provide more clarity on Bateman’s status.
