Despite his relatively recent return from injury, Novak Djokovic has acknowledged that he is unable to articulate why he is competing at Wimbledon and going against his wife’s wishes. Due to a damaged meniscus in his knee that necessitated surgery, Djokovic was recently forced to forfeit a quarterfinal match at the French Open.
After winning Wimbledon seven times, Djokovic’s wife Jelena questioned why her husband would take a chance on more injuries there.
Since that the elite tennis player has never won an Olympic medal in his career, fans may be wondering why he is not concentrating on getting ready for the games. Djokovic has already discussed his level of motivation for the Olympics.
In response to a question on why he would “defy” his wife and play at Wimbledon, Djokovic told FOX News that he didn’t want to miss out while he was still able to perform and that missing the tournament was “just not correct.”
“My wife also kind of asked the same question, right?” the tennis player remarked. which is typical. At the age of 37, would you like to consider lowering your risk and getting ready for the Olympics?
“So from that perspective, I don’t have an answer to that, but I do have something that is described as a feeling of not missing out at a grand slam while I can still play and while I’m still active and at this level.”
