Forward Eetu Luostarinen and the Florida Panthers have reached a three-year contract extension that will keep him under contract through the 2026–2027 campaign.
The 24-year-old Luostarinen had a breakthrough year in 2022, achieving career highs in points (43), assists (26), and goals (17). Luostarinen finished with five points in 16 games during the Panthers’ 2023 Stanley Cup playoff run, which included the game-winning goal in Game 6 of the first round against Boston.
The Panthers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final, but the Vegas Golden Knights defeated them there.
Luostarinen was chosen by Carolina in the 42nd overall second round of the 2017 NHL Draft. In 2020, he was sent to Florida. With 212 NHL games played, he has 78 career points as a skater.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound native of Siilinjarvi, Finland, played for KalPa (Liiga) in Finland for three seasons, from 2016–17 to 2018–19. He made 141 appearances and scored 63 points.
