The Nikola Jovic vs. Bam Adebayo matchup on the international stage has been delayed, but there’s still a possibility the Miami Heat teammates could face off soon. Jovic is recovering from a sprained left ankle and fractured toe, and he might be cleared in time to play for Serbia in the Olympics, according to the Heat. Jovic missed Serbia’s pre-Olympic exhibition game against Adebayo and Team USA in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday due to his injuries. However, they could still meet when Team USA and Serbia open the Olympics against each other on July 28 in Lille, France.
“I think it would have been a great moment for me and Niko to play against each other,” Adebayo said to reporters in Abu Dhabi about Jovic missing the exhibition game. “I’m definitely going to reach out to him, check up on him. I want him to get healthy because he’s on the good side.
