Newcastle United are interested in Arsenal talent Chido Obi-Martin, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club has made contact as the youngster prepares to leave the Gunners this summer.
At 16 years old and standing 6’2″, the young attacker scored 32 goals in 23 games in last season’s U18 Premier League, leading the division by 11 goals. Obi made headlines in November 2023 by scoring ten goals in a 14-3 win over Liverpool in an Under-16s match, followed by seven goals against Norwich in a 9-0 victory in April 2024.
Manchester United appear to be the frontrunner to sign Obi, with both Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic noting that he visited the club’s training facilities at Carrington earlier this week. Alongside Newcastle and Manchester United, several European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt, and AS Monaco, are also monitoring Obi, with a decision from the player expected soon.
