New York Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez was activated from the injured list on Friday. He had been sidelined since mid-June due to an oblique injury sustained during a check swing with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone mentioned earlier this week that Dominguez was nearing a return to action. In 23 games this season, Dominguez posted a .356 batting average and 1.013 OPS, hitting six home runs and driving in 13 runs with 53 total bases.
In his MLB debut in 2023, Dominguez played 31 at-bats, hitting four home runs and recording a .980 OPS before suffering a UCL tear.
With the trade deadline approaching, it will be intriguing to see if the Yankees consider including Dominguez in a trade for a major acquisition. If not, he is expected to return to the MLB level before the end of the regular season.
