Max Verstappen Discusses 2025 F1 Season Ahead of Australian Grand Prix….

As the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship kicks off, three-time world champion Max Verstappen addressed the media on Thursday at the Albert Park paddock, ahead of the highly anticipated Australian Grand Prix. The Dutch driver provided insights into Red Bull Racing’s preparations, the performance of the RB21, and the challenges of defending another title.

When asked about Oracle Red Bull Racing’s readiness for the season, Verstappen expressed optimism while acknowledging that more would be revealed over the coming weekend. “It’s positive,” he stated. “I guess we’ll find out more this weekend and afterward. We’ll try to do our best, and we’ve already identified a few areas to improve on after pre-season testing.”

Regarding the RB21’s performance compared to last year’s car, Verstappen confirmed there had been progress but noted ongoing refinements. “Naturally, there is an improvement, but as I’ve said before, there are still things we want to enhance. This track is different from Bahrain, so the driving experience will also feel distinct.”

With speculation mounting about a highly competitive season, Verstappen remained pragmatic about the team’s position. “It’s impossible to tell at the moment. We are not the quickest right now, but it’s a very long season. If you had asked the same question here last year and then again at the end of the season, the situation looked completely different. Things can change quickly in Formula 1.”

Having secured four consecutive championships, Verstappen reflected on what it takes to remain at the top. “I don’t overthink it. For me, it’s more about staying relaxed, trusting the team, and going from there. We work hard on and off the track, address areas that need improvement, and always aim for the best performance. Minimizing mistakes and consistently scoring points is key.”

With several rookies joining the grid in 2025, Verstappen welcomed the influx of new talent, many of whom, like himself, began their F1 careers at Albert Park. “It’s great to see so many young drivers stepping up. Hopefully, they can stay in the sport for a while. It brings excitement and unpredictability, which is great for Formula 1. It’s also encouraging to see many Red Bull Academy drivers progressing.”

Reflecting on his own career and what advice he would give to his younger self in 2015, Verstappen emphasized the importance of experience. “Honestly, nothing. It’s important to make mistakes and feel the excitement of the moment. If I had known everything I’d achieve, it would take away the uncertainty and pressure that drives improvement. You need that challenge to grow and earn your place in a top team.”

As the season opener approaches, all eyes will be on Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing to see if they can maintain their dominance in an increasingly competitive field.
