Southern Miss football has added an experienced defensive playmaker to its roster with the signing of cornerback Dominick Hill. Hill, who previously played for South Carolina and Temple before transferring to Liberty, brings a wealth of experience to the Golden Eagles’ secondary.
During his collegiate career, Hill has demonstrated consistent defensive prowess, tallying 82 career tackles and recording eight pass deflections. Known for his ability to read plays and disrupt opposing offenses, Hill is expected to make an immediate impact for Southern Miss.
“Dominick is a versatile and talented corner who adds depth and experience to our defense,” said Southern Miss head coach Will Hall. “We’re excited to have him on board as we continue building a strong unit for the upcoming season.”
Hill’s addition is part of the Golden Eagles’ strategy to reinforce their secondary, which has faced challenges in recent seasons. With his combination of size, speed, and game awareness, Hill is poised to compete for a starting role and bring leadership to the defensive backfield.
The former three-star recruit began his college journey at South Carolina before transferring to Temple and then Liberty, where he continued to develop his skills. His journey through multiple programs has given him exposure to diverse defensive schemes, an asset that Southern Miss will likely utilize.
Hill expressed excitement about joining Southern Miss, saying, “I’m grateful for this opportunity to contribute to the program and compete at a high level. I’m ready to get to work and help the team succeed.”
As the Golden Eagles prepare for the upcoming season, Hill’s signing marks a step forward in bolstering their defense. Fans will be eager to see how his experience and playmaking ability translate on the field.
With Dominick Hill now in the fold, Southern Miss continues to solidify its roster, aiming to make waves in Conference USA this season.
