It has been over 16 years since Oasis performed live, but singer Liam Gallagher is confident that the band’s reunion tour next year will be as impactful as ever. Despite the lengthy hiatus, Gallagher insists there will be no signs of rust when he and his brother, guitarist Noel Gallagher, return to the stage for their first tour since 2008. In fact, he boldly challenged any young bands to match their performance.
On Sunday (Nov. 10), Gallagher responded to a question on social media regarding whether Oasis would be as good as they once were, especially since some bands falter upon reuniting. “I said listen here you C–T, even on our bad day we’ll still wipe the floor with the majority of bands out there,” Liam wrote on X, in his signature brash style.
The Gallagher brothers, who have famously clashed both on and offstage in the past, have reportedly reconciled and are preparing for a major global tour in 2024. The tour will begin on July 4 with two shows at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, U.K., followed by dates across the U.K. and Ireland. The band will then head to North America for shows in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, and Los Angeles, before visiting Mexico in September. They will also perform two nights at Wembley Stadium in London before continuing with a series of concerts in Australia, South America, and beyond, including stops in Buenos Aires, Chile, and Brazil.
While it remains unclear whether Oasis will release any new music or debut new songs during the tour, Liam Gallagher has hinted that a new album is already finished. In September, he confirmed that the band’s next record was complete and expressed admiration for Noel’s recent work, calling it “blown away.” Oasis’ last album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released in 2008.
