Kevin Durant has shown interest in the Charlotte Hornets as the team undergoes significant changes. With new ownership, head coach, and general manager, the Hornets are embracing a fresh approach. Formerly, Mitch Kupchak, a seasoned NBA executive, and Steve Clifford, a long-time coach, were in key roles, while Michael Jordan, who owned the team since 2010, had limited success.
The new leadership includes first-time head coach Charles Lee, first-time GM Jeff Peterson, and innovative owners Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin. Durant, who has a connection with Peterson from their time together in Brooklyn, commended the Hornets’ new President of Basketball Operations during a recent appearance on the team’s Reel Access. He noted Peterson’s blend of youth and experience, stating, “Having a young guy with energy and that much experience is rare, so I think it’s the perfect time for Jeff to step up.”
