winning bassist David Ellefson has revealed plans for his Bass Warrior Touracross Europe in spring 2025. The tour will showcase Ellefson and
his solo band performing an electrifying mix of iconic tracks from his extensive career, including Mega hits, his solo material, and timeless hard
rock and metal anthems that have shaped his 40-year journey in music. In conjunction with the tour announcement, Ellefson has teamed up
with American Idol alum James Durbin to release a fiery rendition of Judas Priest’s classic Metal Gods. The powerhouse track also features
Ellefson’s solo band, with longtime friend and musical director Andy Martongelli contributing to the arrangement.
The track is now available for streaming on all major platforms and can be heard here: MetalGods.
Ellefson shares, “As we announce the next wave of Bass Warrior Tour dates for 2025, it felt only fitting to drop a new track that encapsulates
everything we love about heavy metal—Metal Gods by Judas Priest. Having James Durbin on vocals made perfect sense. His incredible voice
and history with Priest—having performed with them on American Idol—made this collaboration a natural fit.”
Durbin adds, “When David Ellefson and Andrea Martongelli message you to cover Judas Priest, the answer is always ‘YES’! Aside from the
legendary Ronnie James Dio, Priest stands at the pinnacle of heavy metal for me, and I’d never pass up the chance to honor their music,
especially when that request comes from David and Andy.” Durbin, who gained widespread attention as a finalist on American Idol’s 10th
season, famously performed with Judas Priest during the show’s finale. The Metal Gods track was produced by Ellefson and Martongelli, mixed
by Alessio Garavello at Rogue Recording Studios in Wembley, UK.
