Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was named FedEx Air Player of the Week for Week 9, marking his second career win of this honor. Burrow was recognized for his stellar performance, completing 27 of 39 passes for 251 yards and an impressive five touchdowns in the Bengals’ victory. The award is determined by fan voting and highlights the top two offensive players of the week, with Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles earning the FedEx Ground Player of the Week honor.
The FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week awards have been a staple for over 20 years, and each winner is celebrated with a $2,000 donation to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), as part of FedEx’s partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. FedEx has donated over $300,000 to HBCUs in the past three seasons alone.
Week 9 was also notable for the Bengals, as Trey Hendrickson was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week earlier, making Burrow and Hendrickson the second pair of Bengals players to earn weekly honors this season.
