Ja Morant Remains Out for Grizzlies’ Matchup Against Nuggets Due to Hip Injury
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will miss his sixth consecutive game on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets after suffering a posterior hip subluxation and pelvic muscle strains during a fall against the Los Angeles Lakers on November 6. The injury occurred when Morant attempted to catch a lob in the third quarter and was destabilized midair by a Lakers player, causing him to fall into extreme right hip flexion.
Following the incident, imaging revealed the posterior hip subluxation (without dislocation) and multiple Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains. Morant has been listed as week-to-week, with the Grizzlies providing updates as necessary.
Although Morant recently suggested a potential return was imminent, he has now officially been ruled out for Tuesday’s game. He will be joined on the sidelines by teammates Zach Edey and GG Jackson, as announced in Memphis’ injury report.
In Morant’s absence, the Grizzlies defeated the Nuggets on Sunday, a game in which Denver star Nikola Jokić was also unavailable due to personal reasons. Jokić will again miss Tuesday’s rematch for the same reason.
Despite facing numerous injuries to start the season, the Grizzlies have managed to remain competitive in the tough Western Conference and are hopeful for the return of Morant and other key players soon.
