Because of the riots and anti-immigration demonstrations, a number of nations have issued safety advisories to their nationals residing in the UK.
Alerts have been issued by Nigeria, Malaysia, and Indonesia warning their citizens living in or visiting the UK to avoid demonstrations.
The violence has reached hazardous proportions, according to a “travel alert” sent by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is headquartered in Abuja. It also stated that there is “an increased risk of violence and disorder caused by recent riots in the UK.”
The advisory went on, saying, “Recent large-scale and occasionally chaotic demonstrations by far-right and other extra-parliamentary groups have taken place in various parts of the UK.”
Malaysians living in or visiting the UK are urged by the High Commission of Malaysia in London to avoid protest locations, be alert, and heed the most recent announcements and instructions from local authorities. Additionally, they “strongly encouraged” registering with the commission in order to “get timely information and support.”
Additionally, the Indonesian embassy in London sent a warning, telling its nationals living in the UK to stay alert and steer clear of big gatherings.
Following the terrible deaths of three young girls at a dancing class in Southport last week, violence broke out in a number of towns and cities around England and Northern Ireland.
A number of nations, including as the US, Germany, and Denmark, advised their nationals not to travel after the riots in England in the summer of 2011.
