A Weekly Insight into George MacIntyre’s Journey with Brentwood Academy Football and His Tennessee Commitment
As part of *The Tennessean*’s season-long series chronicling the rich history of Brentwood Academy football, we sit down each week with senior quarterback and Tennessee recruit George MacIntyre to discuss his season and future. This week, the Eagles face Father Ryan in a TSAAA Division II-AAA state quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Friday in Nashville.
After a 2-10 season last year, Brentwood Academy has turned things around, riding a four-game winning streak and posting a 7-3 record. Despite a few key injuries, MacIntyre remains focused on continuing the team’s momentum.
“We’ve had a lot of wins in a row, but we’re down a few players,” MacIntyre said. “We need guys to step up—just like every team at this point in the season.”
While the Eagles defeated Father Ryan 31-2 in Week 4, MacIntyre is taking a fresh approach heading into Friday’s matchup. “The scoreboard is going to start at 0-0,” he said.
