Florida football redshirt sophomore tight end Arlis
Boardingham announced Thursday via social media that he intends to enter the transfer portal
next week. Boardingham, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound native of Van
Nuys, Calif., has spent two seasons with the Gators and
played a prominent role early in the 2023 campaign.
Throughout the season, Boardingham totaled 18
receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. However, his involvement in the offense
significantly decreased as the year progressed. Over Florida’s final five games, he registered just five
catches for 24 yards, and his playing time diminished during that stretch.
Boardingham was not part of the Gators’ season-ending 31-11 victory over rival Florida State, further signaling his reduced role.
His decision to enter the transfer portal opens the door for new opportunities as he seeks a fresh start at another program.
