The Florida Panthers have won the Stanley Cup for the first time in their team’s existence. To defeat the Edmonton Oilers and win the 2024 Stanley Cup, Florida hung on for a close 2-1 victory in Game 7.
And on Sunday, June 30, the team will stage its Stanley Cup parade in Fort Lauderdale to commemorate. Although it’s customary for clubs to celebrate their parade celebration in close proximity to their championship game, the NHL schedule has made this challenging.
The Panthers celebration is being postponed until Sunday in order to allow the Florida management team to participate after the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup, in contrast to the Boston Celtics in the NBA, who also won on a Monday but held the parade on Friday of the same week.
The Draft is held in the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, starting on Friday, June 28 and running through Saturday, June 29.
Starting at 11 a.m. ET, state road A1A will host the Stanley Cup procession. Beginning at Riomar Street, it will end slightly north of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, the location of the demonstration and the stage talks.
It was thought, before to the Final, that the Stanley Cup-winning management would not be allowed to attend the championship parade in the event that the series stretched to seven games. Rather, the last week of the 2023–24 NHL season will be a really crazy one.
There will be a championship parade in Florida on Sunday, the NHL Draft on Friday and Saturday, the NHL Awards on Thursday, June 27, the Panthers winning the Stanley Cup on Monday, and on Monday, July 1, the first day of free agency will begin. What a fantastic way to end things and start the 2024–25 season.
On Sunday, be sure to keep an eye on social media as these Stanley Cup parades are generally really entertaining.
