Evan Carter, an Elizabethton native and Texas Rangers outfielder, could be in for some good news.
Carter has been out since May 26 due to a stress reaction in his back, and his coach says he has been swinging a bat for the last four or five days at the Rangers’ facility in Surprise, Arizona, and is anticipated to face live pitching this week.
Given his month-plus absence, Carter will most likely require a minor league rehab stint before being activated.
