There is uncertainty surrounding the availability of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith for their Week 13 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport reports that while Smith may attempt a pre-game workout on Sunday to assess his readiness, there is a general lack of optimism regarding his participation. NFL Network’s
Mike Garafolo adds that while no final decision has been made, Smith still has significant work to do in order to play in the contest. Smith, who has been dealing with a hamstring
injury, was listed as questionable on the Eagles’ final injury report. He missed practice on Wednesday and was limited in both Thursday and Friday sessions.
Should Smith be unable to suit up, the Eagles will face challenges, especially against a formidable Ravens team. With wide receiver Johnny Wilson also ruled out, Philadelphia may rely on a thinner receiving corps consisting of A.J. Brown, Jahan Dotson, Britain Covey,
Ainias Smith, and Parris Campbell. The Eagles could shift their focus toward a stronger ground game and more two-tight end formations in Smith’s potential absence. If Smith is unable to play this week, the team hopes he will return in Week 14 or 15, with his
progress in practice suggesting a return to action in the near future, though hamstring injuries can be unpredictable.
