At the Morgan Wallen event in Missouri, a guy was detained for allegedly posing a “terroristic threat” to two Kansas City Chiefs players, nearly endangering the lives of Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. According to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, Winchester resident Aaron Brown made the internet threat before Mahomes and Kelce attended the event and as they were leaving the stage with the contentious country music artist.
Local law enforcement has not yet confirmed which two individuals were the targets at the Arrowhead Stadium event, but it’s plausible they were referring to the well-known tight end and quarterback duo.
A threatening message was posted on an X.com (formerly Twitter) account, stating: “Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted], I’ll take the f**kin shot. F**k em! Also, f**k you bitch!! (hand emoji with middle finger up twice) @[redacted].”
Police tracked down the individual, identified as Brown, through his account and cellphone, and arrested him at the stadium after he admitted he was there with his girlfriend. This incident underscores the importance of verification features.
The threat, which caused a 40-minute delay in the show’s start, was described as a “stupid, stupid, stupid mistake” by Brown, who faces a second-degree terrorist threat charge with a $15,000 bail.
Who was targeted?
The tweet appears to target Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, who was present at the concert while expecting their third child. However, it could also be related to Travis Kelce, who has been dating Taylor Swift since August 2023. Given Swift’s fame and the presence of her detractors, it’s possible she could also be a target of animosity.
