Cardinals officially reunites with former All-Star…

The St. Louis Cardinals are facing a number of issues. They lost to the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night, dropping them below the.500 mark for the first time since June 19. Although it appeared that St. Louis had bounced back from their terrible 15-24 start, they are now in trouble once more and could end up missing the postseason for the second consecutive year as well as having back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 1994–1995. They may look to reunite with a former All-Star in the offseason. “The Royals made a savvy signing in acquiring Michael Wacha last offseason on a one-year, $16 million contract with a player option next year for the same amount,” Jim Bowden wrote.

rote. “In all likelihood, he will decline the option and return to free agency to get a longer-term deal.”

2013 saw Wacha make his Major League debut with St. Louis, where he was named the NLCS MVP. He spent 2019 with the Cards.

However, the right-hander has at last developed into the pitcher the Cardinals anticipated he would be when he initially emerged. He recently pitched seven innings against his former team, giving up just two runs.

With the Kansas City Royals, the 33-year-old has made 21 starts and is 9-6 with a 3.50 ERA. He would undoubtedly improve the Cardinals’ rotation and provide them with a trustworthy arm in 2025.

He would give the Cardinals a chance since his postseason record clearly speaks for itself.

If the Cardinals make it in 2025, he would offer them a stronger opportunity to win in October because of his impressive playoff experience.

If the Cardinals decide to pursue this reunion in the offseason, we’ll have to wait and see.
