Fans of the Indiana Fever have been informed by Christie Sides of Caitlin Clark’s injury. Clark has had a difficult start to her WNBA debut this season.
The players are beginning to feel the effects of their demanding schedule and bad performance, which has led to low morale among them. The Fever have played 11 games in 20 days.
It may come as a surprise considering how poorly some opponents have handled her, but Clark appeared to have an ear injury during the most recent game against the New York Liberty. An impact injury would have been the logical assumption.
As to Matthew Byrne on X, Sides stated that Clark is undergoing evaluation for her ear and stated, “There’s something going on with her ear,” even though a definitive diagnosis has not been made.
The Fever must take a nap.
The Fever will fortunately have a five-day break before their next scheduled game, but they will still need Clark to be ready.
Sides recently discussed how difficult it has been for Clark in light of her enormous popularity following her WNBA debut.
“The whole 40 minutes [Clark] is in the game – on both ends – she’s getting beat up,” Sides stated.
“She doesn’t give up.All I want is for us to receive the same calls that the other party is receiving. Simply put, we’re not receiving the same calls. I will put up a fierce battle for them.”
