The three players involved in a rare trade between the Charlotte Hornets and the Dallas Mavericks were transferred to the team in the city where they were raised. While Grant Williams and Seth Curry headed back to the Queen City, P.J. Washington moved to Dallas.
Curry, who shot 44% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc, averaged nine points, two rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in just eight games for the Hornets. Due to a damaged ankle, he missed the last two months of the season; yet, he was a leader and mentor to some of the younger guards who were playing.
Curry was released by the Hornets this summer, but they later signed him back for a single season. Dell Curry, the father of Seth and a legendary member of the Hornets, recently spoke with Ashley Stroehlein of WCNC Charlotte on Seth’s impending return to the Queen City.
Extremely enthusiastic. He has joined me on several of my golf outings, so we’ve had a chance to discuss the next season and its prospects for the youthful squad. Front office personnel is completely different. Now that he’s a veterinarian, he can’t wait to enter the locker room, offer his knowledge, and aid the young men in their education. However, he intends to play on for his local team here, where his No. 30 shirt will have particular meaning.
