After learning their League One schedule on Wednesday, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor made fun of his previous club’s opponents, Birmingham City. Blues, who were demoted on the penultimate day of the Championship season last month, and fell into the third tier for the first time in over thirty years, will take on Reading on August 10 in their first bid to get back into the second division.

While Villa, under Unai Emery, qualified for the newly formed Champions League at the end of the previous season, they are getting ready to attempt and gain another spot in the competition.

After retiring from football, Agbonlahor—who came up through the ranks and led the team during their previous Premier League era before being relegated in 2016—moved into punditry. When the Blues’ schedule was presented to him on talkSPORT, he was speaking with former Scotland striker Alan Brazil. Villa will be playing some of the top teams in Europe, while Blues will be visiting some new stadiums in the third division.
“Orient Leyton? Mbappe visiting Villa Park and staying at Malmaison in the Mailbox with the Real Madrid team might mean that Aston Villa plays Real Madrid, according to Agbonlahor. “Leyton Orient will host Birmingham City, oh, so poor. I want them to stay in League One, suffer there, and go down there.”
