Noel and Liam Gallagher, the iconic brothers behind Oasis, could soon bring their long-awaited musical reunion to the screen in a new documentary. According to The Sun, Apple TV+ is reportedly eager to capture the brothers’ story, following their reconciliation after 15 years of public feuding, as they prepare for a series of record-breaking concerts across the UK next summer.
The planned documentary would follow in the footsteps of Apple TV+’s acclaimed Get Back, which chronicled the making of The Beatles’ 1970 album Let It Be. An anonymous source told The Sun that while Apple is facing competition from both Amazon Prime and Netflix, it is determined to secure exclusive access to the Gallaghers’ behind-the-scenes moments in the lead-up to their concerts. The source added, “This is set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ offering substantial funding.”
Oasis has seen a resurgence in popularity since announcing the reunion gigs, and their music has returned to the top of the UK charts. The band has not performed together since 2009, when a backstage altercation between the brothers led to Noel’s departure from the group. Next summer, they will perform 17 concerts across the UK and Ireland, starting in Cardiff in July. Due to overwhelming demand, many fans have been left disappointed or forced to pay inflated prices due to dynamic pricing on ticket sales, prompting a government investigation into the process.
