The Southern Miss Golden Eagles made a significant splash in the transfer market today, announcing four new signings to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season. The latest
additions include standout players from prominent programs: offensive linemen Christian Anderson (Alabama A&M) and Cooper
Frazier (Samford), running back Jefferey Pittman (Mississippi State), and safety Corey Myrick (Marshall).
Christian Anderson, a towering 6’7”, 295-pound offensive lineman, brings both size and experience to the Golden Eagles’ offensive front.
Joining him is Cooper Frazier, a 6’4”, 305-pound lineman from Samford, who is expected to add depth and versatility to the line. Both players are
poised to play crucial roles in protecting the quarterback and paving the way for the running game.
Running back Jefferey Pittman arrives from Mississippi State, bringing power and agility to the backfield. Known for his ability to break
tackles and find the end zone, Pittman is anticipated to be a key offensive weapon for the Golden Eagles. Rounding out the latest group of
signees is safety Corey Myrick from Marshall, a versatile defender who excels in coverage and run support.
These signings are part of a busy recruitment period for Southern Miss, as the program continues to build its roster for the future. Over
the weekend, the Golden Eagles secured commitments from a host of talented players, including wide receivers Chuck Montgomery, Tychaun Chapman, Elijah Metcalf, and Bralon Brown, all transferring from Marshall.
The defensive unit also received a boost with the additions of defensive back Dominick Hill (Liberty), cornerbacks Ishmael Ibraheem and
Ian Foster (both from Marshall), and defensive linemen Jabari Ishmael and JJ Hawkins (Marshall). Safety Ahmere Foster, another Marshall transfer, will bring additional talent to the secondary.
On the offensive side, quarterback Braylon Braxton (Marshall) is among the notable transfers, expected to compete for a starting
role. The Golden Eagles’ recruiting haul showcases their commitment to building a balanced and competitive team capable of excelling in all phases of the game.
In addition to the transfer signings, Southern Miss secured commitments from five promising high school seniors earlier in the week. These
include quarterback Silas Corder (Pascagoula), long snapper Fred Nicholson (Gautier), safety Zach Ruffin (Neshoba Central), punter Jack
Richardson (Madison Central), and linebacker Malachi Henderson (Oak Grove). With these signings, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles are taking significant strides in strengthening their
roster, blending experienced transfers with young talent. The influx of new players has created a sense of excitement around the
program as the team prepares for the upcoming season, aiming to make a mark in Conference USA.
