Texas A&M Faces Crucial setbacks due to players exit

Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) enters the final week of the 2024 regular season with its postseason hopes on the line as the Aggies host Texas on

Saturday night. The outcome of the game will determine whether the Aggies secure a spot in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

After a heartbreaking loss to Auburn in quadruple overtime, Texas A&M’s playoff aspirations were reignited by Alabama’s

unexpected defeat to Oklahoma, while Ole Miss also suffered a setback against Florida. With the SEC Championship in sight, head coach Mike

Elko and his team understand the importance of the Lone Star Showdown. “When you have two programs as prominent as these, so close to

each other, it just makes sense for them to play,” said Elko. “To finally be playing for this kind of stakes, it’s going to be electric on Saturday.”

With just days remaining before the game, Elko provided updates on several key injured players, including sophomore running back Rueben

Owens, and cornerbacks Will Lee III and Jaydon Hill, both of whom left the Auburn game early.
