Oasis Announces New Album releases…

Oasis’ Debut Album “Definitely Maybe” Reaches UK Chart Summit Again, 30 Years After Release

Oasis’ iconic debut album Definitely Maybe has topped the UK albums chart once more, three decades after its original release, marking a major milestone for the Britpop legends. According to the Official Charts Company, this marks the first time in 14 years that the band has reclaimed the top spot on the UK chart. The album, which initially debuted at number one in September 1994, saw a remarkable 408% increase in sales and streams, driven in part by the release of a 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition.

The special edition features previously unreleased material, including original recording sessions from Monnow Valley Studio in Wales and Sawmills Studios in Cornwall, as well as an alternative demo version of “Sad Song.” The album’s resurgence follows the band’s recent announcement of a reunion tour, as Noel and Liam Gallagher put aside their infamous 15-year feud.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, though it has also been overshadowed by controversy surrounding the ticket sales process. Last Saturday’s release of concert tickets was marred by dynamic pricing, long wait times, and technical issues on Ticketmaster, leading to frustration for many fans. In response to the backlash, both the UK government and the Competition and Markets Authority have promised to investigate the practices behind the sales.

To accommodate demand, Oasis added two extra dates to their tour, including additional shows at Wembley Stadium in September 2024. Martin Talbot, CEO of the Official Charts, congratulated the Gallagher brothers on the album’s chart-topping success, acknowledging the enduring legacy of Definitely Maybe in British music history.
