Birmingham City have officially concluded trade for Burnley goalkeeper

Since signing goalkeeper Ryan Allsop from Hull City at this time last week, Birmingham City has not been able to bolster its roster with another new player.

Allsop, 32, has strengthened the Blues’ goalkeeping unit since Neil Etheridge, a Philippines international, left. The Blues are actively searching the market for a new goalkeeper to challenge Allsop for the top slot, even though John Ruddy, the team’s top goalie from the previous season, has been offered a new contract.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell of Burnley has been connected to Blues. Peacock-Farrell has only played in 24 games for Burnley in his five years there, but in that time he has had loan stints with Danish team Aarhus and Sheffield Wednesday. Additionally, the 27-year-old continues to be Northern Ireland’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The team is constructing from the back, but they must exercise patience in finding fresh players. Last week, Blues manager Chris Davies pleaded with fans to be patient.

According to Davies, “a lot of work is being done in terms of identifying targets and evaluating the players that we currently have based on observation and the data that is provided.” “A lot of work is underway, and it’s crucial to me that I approach the process with the appropriate amount of composure.

“We are taking the initiative and moving things along to bring in players who can help us, but we also need to be aware that it will take time to put together the team that will, ideally, be with us for two or three seasons instead of just one. There is a lot of work being done, and many kind people are putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes and step by step we will get there and build a really good squad.”

Although Blues are officially a League One team, Davies and the staff in charge of recruiting have been given the task of assembling a team for the Championship. After promotion is assured, Knighthead wants the Blues to have a team that can compete immediately in the second division.
