Renowned American alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin has become a legend in her sport. She is a successful ski racer, having won an amazing 88 World Cup races, breaking Ingemar Stenmark’s previous record of 86.

Shiffrin has won numerous medals at the Olympics and World Championships, including two gold medals at the Olympics (in the slalom and giant slalom events in 2014 and 2018) and seven World Championship crowns.

Shiffrin is only 28 years old, but she has already made a name for herself as one of the best alpine skiers of all time. She is a dominant force in slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and downhill competitions, among other disciplines.

Mikaela Shiffrin has named Karin Harjo as her personal head coach. 46-year-old Norwegian-American Harjo has the kind of varied upbringing that has influenced her approach to coaching.

 

Harjo was born in Japan to parents who were missionaries from Norway, and she lived there until she immigrated to the US.

 

She was exposed to Norwegian during her cosmopolitan upbringing, which includes periods spent in Norway.
