The NBA unveiled a new set of honors in 2022, which will be given out every year to the top player and team from each conference final. Additionally, Larry Bird, the renowned small forward for the Boston Celtics, is linked to the MVP (most valuable player) title for the Eastern Conference. Deputy League Commissioner Mark Tatum called each of the persons to inform them of the new hardware and to let them know that their names would be on the awards. The league posted a video of The Hick From French Lick’s response on Instagram. The Hick was on the call.
“Thank you, Mark,” Bird uttered upon learning that his name was on the conference trophy for which he had won three titles. “All I want is to win one of those Magic Johnson trophies for myself.”
